AFTER SCHOOL TUITION

Children are deprived of access to education. This worsens the inequalities in education outcomes for children from underprivileged backgrounds. In the current environment, digitization is one of the solutions to bridge this educational gap. However, the existing economic condition of these poor marginalized people is the threatening challenge to avail these digital uses. Hence, PADASALAI initiated ‘After School Tuition’ programs aimed to help reduce this divide by supporting the deprived children through initiatives in the educational sector, targeting the needs of the deprived community.

TNPSC ONLINE COACHING CLASSESS

Ninety percent of the common people are aspiring to get government jobs. Unfortunately, either they do not have up skilling or do not have equal opportunity to up skilling! Hence, PADASALAI conducts online coaching classes to reduce gap between skilled and un-skilled.  

 

 

SKILLS TRAINING TO WOMEN

TAILORING SKILL: Women are the backbone of a family. If women are educated, then the entire family is equipped. Thus believing this, socially and economically backward poor women are trained in tailoring and embroidery skills aimed to increase the family income, which reduces un-employability.

CAR DRIVING SKILL:

Village women and youth are severely affected and faces problems than others in general, due to illiteracy, poverty, unemployment, equal rights, and gender bias, etc. Working experiences with them motivated to provide them car driving skill by joined hands with like-minded.  

MALNUTRITION:

Malnutrition is still a serious problem in India. PADASALAI initiated an integrated approach addressing malnutrition problem in the target villages through women self-help groups. Analytical communication and motivation to women groups emphasized the need for nutrition security. Motivation to the women groups for breastfeeding, awareness to pregnant mothers to take iron/folic acid tablets content food, and training WSHG members to use millets in the form of snacks items to eradicate malnutrition results well.

PERSON WITH DISABILITIES(PwDs)

Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) are taken care of through required physiotherapy support and counseling care which helps them to lead a normal dignitary life. These are given through qualified professional physiotherapists and professionals arranged for caring the needful PwDs.

PHYSIOTHERAPY & COUNSELLING: Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) are taken care of through required physiotherapy support and counselling support which helps them to lead a normal dignitary life. 180 PwDs are directly benefiting from this project. A qualified professional physiotherapist and professionals arranged for medical support and needful counseling to PwDs.

HEALTH:

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is defined as illness caused by a novel coronavirus called severe acute respiratory syndrome. COVID-19 affects different people in different ways. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a global pandemic On March 11, 2020. Continuous health education and motivation requires maintaining a healthy environment. PADASALAI educates this through women self-help groups (WSHGs). Continuous health awareness is being undertaken aiming Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or Clean India Mission.

WORKSHOP TO MUNICIPALITY FRONTLINE WORKERS

Workshop conducted on “Prevention of hazardous cleaning of sewer and septic tanks” to municipalities in Tamil Nadu. It empowered them to ensure safe and secure by adhering government act enacted. It also helps them to spread the same messages to co-workers and their community.

WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY (WNTD)

World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) is being celebrated by implementing related awareness programs which informs the public on the dangers of using tobacco, what World Health Organization (WHO) is doing to fight the tobacco epidemic and what people around the world can do to claim their right to health and healthy living and to protect future generations. Youth are being targeted to benefit out of such interventions.

ENVIRONMENT:

Environment awareness program conducted to the target village people. Tree Plantation encouraged through volunteers and well-wishers who are willing to celebrate their auspicious celebrations and functions. PADASALAI coordinates such wonderful events wherever requires and whenever applicable. Women SHGs, youth, students and volunteers are really enjoying such programs organized. Maintenance part of the tree plantation too emphasized.

CORONA VIRUS DISEASE 2019 (COVID-19)

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is defined as illness caused by a novel coronavirus called severe acute respiratory syndrome. COVID-19 affects different people in different ways. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a global pandemic On March 11, 2020. 

 

During COVID first wave, PADASALAI reached out to 1000+ families with dry ration and hygiene kits, meeting the urgent needs of people on the ground in 3 states – Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. To ensure learning does not stop for students’ during the pandemic, PADASALAI distributed 250+ education kits. Each of these kits included textbooks and reference books as per the students’ grade, notebooks, pen and pencil. 

As part of this community outreach, to ensure their livelihood during the lockdown, PADASALAI served the needy people at appropriate times.  The teams made daily calls to understand the wellbeing, medical condition and other needs of the target communities. They also counselled them on the safety and preventive measures around COVID–19. We also engaged with the local government agencies, donors and healthcare experts to spread COVID awareness messages among our beneficiaries and provide them with immediate relief measures to keep them healthy and protected during this pandemic.

We also stood for the safety and well-being of our staff even as we continue to reach out to the most vulnerable population impacted by COVID. We adopted new ways of working to ensure that the employees can deliver from home as well as from the office.
